twittergument 2

-A construction of mythological connection from twitter May 13 2009:

"The gallant Perseus, a son of Jupiter, was the first whaleman;"~*Moby Dick* (Melville)

"Andromeda, the daughter of a king, was tied to a rock on the sea-coast, and as Leviathan was in the very act of carrying her off,"

There is that "rock of sacrifice" again. Andromeda, the daughter of Cassiopeia was heir to the rich city of Joppa (in *Clash of the Titans*)

"Perseus, the prince of whalemen, intrepidly advancing, harpooned the monster, and delivered and married the maid."

Jonah, whose name literally means "dove" seeks to flee from "the presence of the Lord" by going to Jaffa (Joppa) and sailing to Tarshish.

"For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall [Jesus] be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Perseus later enabled a fisherman to become king. His youth is similar to that of a guy with a similar name who sought the holy grail.

A lot of Depeche Mode on KEXP today. "Never Let Me Down" Oh yeah, the other guy's name is Perceval, Parsifal, Parzival, Peredur. . .

Abe's Axe is a symbol. Like the firey wand of Hermes, it is the conduit for bringing into action manifestations from the creative imagination. He is not killing vampires so much as freeing living dead men. The great emancipator would like to bring you into the 4th dimension of consciousness. He is going to have to kill you to do this, though. Or, actually, just annihilate your ego to transport you. In this instance, his axe is the craft. A craft is both a transport and a skill. The magician's wand is both. A pen can be mightier than the sword. What's your craft? Use your symbol well. . .
